The book is Xiamen University's collected papers of the seminar of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Authors of the papers are experts from inland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and America. In April 2010, the ""2010 International Academic Seminar on Chinese Teaching in Three Places on Both Sides of the Taiwan Straits"" was held in Xiamen University. The conference gathered over eighty experts and scholars from over twenty higher education institutes on three places on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.
